Ten Tennessee homes, priced from $109,000 to $199,900, every one of them on at least an acre. One started life as a handmade cabin with a vaulted loft and exposed timber framing. One is a HUD resale log home with a detached two-story garage. One is a 1918 house on a hilltop above Whitwell with mountain views from the porch. None of these are polished, move-in-perfect listings. All of them are real opportunities at a price point that barely exists anymore in a lot of the country.
Below: the video, then a quick-compare table of all ten, then the full write-up on each, ordered by price, low to high.

If you’re also watching the distressed end of this market, foreclosure.com tracks bank-owned and below-market listings beyond what shows up in a standard search, and it’s a tool we point readers to often.
9265 Pea Vine Rd, Middleton, TN 38052
$109,000, the lowest ask of the nine newly featured here. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, approximately 1,000 square feet, 3.02 acres, built 2000. Hardeman County.
A farmhouse-style home on just over three acres, described in the listing as cozy and move-in ready. The county’s public record classifies the structure as a manufactured home rather than site-built, a detail worth confirming directly since it can affect financing and insurance even when the home itself looks conventional in photos.

MLS: Memphis Area Association of Realtors #10232913. Listed by: Karen Lanier, Lanier Realty.

449 S Elm St, Whitwell, TN 37397
$165,000. Three bedrooms, one bathroom, 1,560 square feet, 1.2 acres, built 1918. Marion County.
A century-old house on a hilltop lot overlooking Whitwell, with real mountain views from the front porch confirmed in the listing’s own aerial photo. Two gas log fireplaces provide backup heat, and the listing notes a roof and electrical panel about four years old along with a handicap-accessible tub and shower.

2106 Tunnel Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37406
$169,900. Three bedrooms, one bathroom, 1,176 square feet, 3.67 acres, built 1948. Hamilton County.
A craftsman-style bungalow with a covered front porch and a renovated interior: updated kitchen, bathroom and laundry room, a brick fireplace in the living room, and a newer roof and HVAC system. The 3.67 acres is sizable for a listing this close to downtown Chattanooga.

MLS: GCAR #1539121. Listed by: Randy Durham and Jason Durham, Real Estate Partners Chattanooga LLC.

8742 Majors Rd, Knoxville, TN 37938
$189,000. Three bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, 2,000 square feet, 1 acre, built 1982. Knox County.
The most distinctive of the ten: a hand-built wood-frame house with a vaulted loft, exposed timber framing, and a handmade staircase connecting the two levels. The listing calls out the home’s architectural flair directly, and the photos back that up. It needs work, and the layout is unconventional rather than move-in ready.

MLS: Knoxville MLS #1352403. Listed by: Abbott Mary and Jacob Gann, Capstone Realty Group.

187 Vinsant Hollow Ln, Jacksboro, TN 37757
$189,900. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,792 square feet, 1.3 acres, built 1992. Campbell County.
The listing’s aerial photo confirms genuine mountain views from this property, with Vinsant Hollow Lane dead-ending at Norris Lake nearby. The home itself does not have lake frontage. The lake access is a feature of the area, not a visual claim the interior photos make.

MLS: Knoxville MLS #1352732. Listed by: Gage Dople, Wallace.

731 Pleasant Grove Rd, Winfield, TN 37892
$198,000. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,665 square feet, 1.08 acres, built 1984. Scott County.
A log home with an open-concept main floor and a spacious primary suite, sold as a HUD resale under HUD Case #481-491386. The standout feature is a huge two-story detached garage, which the listing suggests could become a workshop, guest apartment, or rental unit subject to local approvals. No photo gallery was available for this listing on any source we checked, so we can’t show it here the way we have the others. Confirm the home’s current condition directly with the listing contact before relying on the written description alone.

$199,000. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,654 square feet, almost 2 acres, built 1965. Hamilton County.
A for-sale-by-owner listing: a single-level home with vertical wood siding, sold as-is and needing significant renovation including plumbing work. No FHA financing is available. The listing notes a 2019 HVAC replacement with a 2022 compressor, a 2013 metal roof, a 2022 electrical panel rewire, and a 2018 septic tank, alongside walking-distance access to a deeded community waterfront lot with 1/16 ownership, a dock, and water access for fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding.

$199,900, the highest ask among the nine newly featured here. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, 1,610 square feet, 1.97 acres, built 1928. Sullivan County.
A cottage farmhouse the listing describes as move-in ready, with new flooring, a new metal roof, and an updated kitchen. The available photos show a largely empty, unfurnished interior with well-worn flooring throughout, so confirm the condition of the specific rooms and finishes that matter to you before relying on the listing’s framing alone.

What to take from the ten
None of these are turnkey. Three have no usable public tax record at all, which means budgeting for taxes on those three means calling the county directly. One is a FSBO with no agent to call. One is a HUD resale with no available photos anywhere we could find them. What they share is real acreage, from just over an acre to more than five, at prices that put a house and land together under $200,000 for nine of the ten, and under $250,000 for all ten.
For more Tennessee acreage in the same general price range, we also have the seven-property feature along with full write-ups on 152 Cavanaugh Ln in Byrdstown and 7300 Snake Hollow Rd in Sneedville. If you’re tracking a broader list of as-is and below-market properties beyond Tennessee, foreclosure.com is worth a look, and it’s where we send readers who ask us for a tool like this.
