What we collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter we collect your email address and a note of which form you used, so we can tell readers from agents. If you use the contact form we collect the name, email address and message you type. If you email us we keep that correspondence. If you buy a listing promotion we receive the listing link, the property details and the contact information you want printed in the post, and we publish those details as part of the post.
We do not ask for or store payment details. Card payments for listing promotions are taken by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page, and Stripe tells us only that a payment went through.
How we use it
Your email address is used to send you the property newsletter and occasional announcements. Contact form messages are used to answer you. Advertiser details are used to write and publish the post you paid for. We do not sell your email address or share it with advertisers.
Who processes your data
The newsletter runs on EmailOctopus, which stores subscriber addresses on our behalf. The contact form is delivered by Formspree. Payments are handled by Stripe under its own privacy policy. This site is hosted by Vercel, which logs standard request data such as IP address and browser type. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it serves them. Property videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and forms get used. It sets cookies and sends your IP address and browsing activity on this site to Google.
Right now the ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. Google sets cookies and sends your IP address and the pages you visit here to Google and its partners, who may use that to show you ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google's ad settings.
Advertising on this site is managed by Mediavine. You can change your ad choices at any time through the "Update Privacy Settings" link shown on the site if you are in the EU or UK, or the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link if you are in the US. You can also opt out of many third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info. Blocking cookies in your browser also works and does not break the site. Your choices
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. You can also email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we will do that within 30 days. Advertisers can ask us to take a post down at any time.
Children
This site is for adults looking at property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and we delete it if we learn we have.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that affects what we do with your email address will also be announced in the newsletter.
